Fun and Not So Fun

Brooklynn is 3 1/2 weeks old, and her is a list of fun and not so fun things that we do:

FUN:

1. Swimming-Well it has just barely been moved from the not-so-fun list, which makes mommy happy because it means that we are that much closer to going swimming, where mom can sit in the hot tub.

2. Swinging in her swing- she absolutely loves her swing. It is the only place where she will settle herself and fall asleep. She is currently in her swing, fast asleep, although I wouldnt say sound asleep because she is sure making lots of noise in her sleep.

3. Sleeping- this picture also shows good thing number 3, which is sleeping for 8 hours straight in the night. Although she does still have bad nights where we are up every two hours and stay awake for two hours at a time.

4. Smiling-she is starting to smile alot more now, at people too, instead of just in her sleep when she has gas bubbles. I have yet to actually catch it on my camera, so i think im going to have to whip out the video camera soon. But this is a picture of Brooklynn smiling at Grandpa

5. Cute clothes- she is still too small for most of her cute outfits/dresses, but she are starting to be able to put her in a few of them, even if they might still be a little baggy.

NOT-SO-FUN (dont have many pictures of these ones lol)

1. Waking up every 10 minutes to eat- for the last week this has been her m.o. But i think she is getting over it.

2. Poopy diapers 2 min after you just changed it

3. Pooping through her cute clothes within two hours

4. Maverick trying to eat her soothers

5. Throwing tempers when i make her stop eating so that i can burp her- my mom and i laughed when she did this

6. Very very angry cry- already showing that she is going to be a drama queen.

But we love her to death and we wouldnt change anything about her.

Look What Santa Brought!!!!!!!!!!!

Twas the night before Christmas, and all through the room, a baby was stirring inside the womb.....

On Christmas Eve afternoon we opened presents at Ben's parents house since we would be spending Christmas day at my parents. A couple of the presents were a little saddening, cuz our little baby girl was not here yet and would not be able to use her "My First Christmas 2012" ornament, or her first Christmas sleeper. Little did we know....

After present opening at the Hubers we went to my parents and had fondue and opened our Christmas pajamas. Again, it was a little sad because my mom had made matching pjs for the baby, and she wouldnt get to wear them. I was having contractions that were 8 minutes apart all night, but they never got any closer together or more painful, so I thought nothing of it. It was a very long night, cuz they were intense enough that they stopped me from really sleeping, only dozing.

Woke up Christmas morning, still having 8 min apart contractions. Ben went to feed the cows, and I tried to sleep a little more. While he was gone though, which only took 3 hours, my contractions jumped to 3 minutes apart. So I had to call him and tell him that someone else would have to finish feeding, cuz we had somewhere to be. We were supposed to go to my parents as soon as Ben got home, but instead we ended up going to the hospital.

When we got there, they told me they might send me home, cuz I wasnt quite far enough along in labor. But the nurse decided to admit me, which was at 11am, so then it began.

I spent about 4 hours in the shower on a birthing ball, most of which time Ben slept in the recliner in the room. I was dumb enough to tell her I didnt need drugs after those four hours, cuz I was still able to manage the pain pretty well. But then it picked up in intensity. Once we moved to the delivery room, it really kicked into high gear. Man, contractions are a bugger!!!!! I only had laughing gas, and a little bit of morphine to take the edge off, which I dont think the morphine did anything at all. Next time, I think I will take the drugs when Im offered lol, no need to be tough a second time.

Pain, groaning, moaning, pain, panting, breathing, pushing, pain.......and then.........after almost 9 months, 9 days overdue, and 12 hours in the hospital....our beautiful baby girl entered the world! The best Christmas present in the world!

Let me introduce Brooklynn Nicole Huber, the prettiest little girl in the world.
Born @ 10:47pm December 25th 2012
7lbs 14oz
21.5 in
Our first family picture....dont judge, I look like crap. It was a long day.

Such a proud daddy!

An even prouder mommy!

My going home outfit...Im so pretty

Daddy kisses

I already have him wrapped around my finger

Maverick is so interested in her

She is the cutest little girl you have ever seen. She is super calm, and hardly ever fusses. If anything, she is too calm lol. She sleeps right through her feedings, which makes it hard for me to get enough food in that little belly of hers. But she is so cute, and has everyone wrapped around her little finger...grandmas and grandpas, aunties and uncles, and especially mommy and daddy. Especially daddy. I have had to buy a few clothes, cuz she is too long for most of the newborn stuff, but the older 0-3 month stuff is still way too big on her, so she is in that inbetween stage. But I know that she will grow fast and will eventually be able to fit into all her clothes.

As for mommy and daddy, well we are doing really good. Sometimes mommy gets tired and frustrated, especially when it comes to feeding. And sometimes daddy gets frustrated when she is fussy. But it is all worth it. We love our little princess!!!!

I will definitely keep updating as she grows.
